So I’ve mentioned that I’ve been working on my first official comic strip.
It’s a parody on the Assassin’s Creed games, which are known for their vast, detailed, locals set in ancient Europe. I’ve been penciling in the panels for the past couple days, but I found that the first panel, being an establishing shot from a perch, just wasn’t right. I toiled with it for an hour or so and decided to scrap my progress and start the background over.
Being the brain-trust I am, it finally came to mind that I could just load up the game itself and take a snapshot of a select landscape and use that as a reference. So sorry for the delay to anyone who’s actually reading this damn thing.
After some thought, I’ve decided to throw out the Lightbox script I’ve been using for the Portfolio section and instead link the images directly to their corresponding comments page. I had Lightbox in as a quick fix, long before I made individual pages for each item.
Otherwise, I’m psyching myself up to put pen to tablet and start work on some short comics. I’m hoping to have something to show in the next week or so.
Looks good, right? I gotta say, I’m enjoying the new brushes in CS5
Been working a bit for a couple of clients. How do they look?
So I’ve been away from the computer for the past few days due to a mild case of burn out, but I can gladly say that I’m feeling refreshed.
It’s been brought to my attention that the Lightbox script that I’ve been using for the main link to my portfolio items may not be mobile-friendly, so I’m going to be getting rid of that code and replacing the link with one to my comments page. I may keep Lightbox handy for future use – possibly for slideshows.
On a personal note, I’ve been enjoying Assassin’s Creed II. Glad they went the direction they did from the first entry.
